17

Dappled sunlight filters in
Late afternoon meanders by
As my thoughts sink in,
I'm dozing, warm and cozy
In my bed of grass
And time just passes,
Never rushing once to fly.

Host

I am the host of your viral nature
Infected and subjugated
You have climbed inside of me
Completely unabated
Left to run your course
What else can I do?
I am so powerless against you

16-3

I’ve always felt this way
Living near you everyday
Once I saw you my fate was sealed
Visions of you were so surreal
Each barrier you broke through, but
You never noticed me
Out in the rain, this
Umbrella was for you.

16-2

I don’t even recognize
Leaving this fact unrealized
Obvious to everyone, the
Very idea I won't address
Eventually I must confess
You are all I think about
One I would not want to live without
Until now I had my doubts

16-1

I think I’m blind to it
Laughing it off, not
Once do I let myself think,
Visually, they all can see it
Ever present in my heart, but
You never say, what I never say
One look or smile, I can longer be
Under denial.

15

Your eyes are my spies
Spilling your secrets
Unearthing what you never say
Revealing your thoughts
You say that they betray
But I would be lost without them
You would remain such a mystery
But with your eyes I see.

14

Don’t choke on your life
Don’t suffocate yourself
Don’t ever wish to be somebody else
You fill your room with boxes and pictures
Of who you want or wish to be
Can you go on with these imposing visions?
Inadequate. Inadequate. Inadequate
They say.  But do you buy that?
They claim they have the answers
This problem they can solve
But the blind are leading the blind
And this is my resolve
To break away
Despite what they say

Rose

Tools of my Trade

13

i. Emptiness, feeling the mess inside, causes me to hide. Curling up, becoming smaller, unnoticeable and unseen, protecting some childish dream. Ice cold and burning hot, no existing name for this twisting pain…

ii. The barley still sways in the wind,
    the rain still falls down.
    The tide still turns,
but I keep falling all around.
